Top Ten NFL Games from this season.

Unfortunately, there will be no live NFL games to watch for quite some time. In the final game of the season, The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs this past Sunday. While that game was very noteworthy, we can’t forget about all the games that happened prior to Super Bowl 55. Let’s rank the ten best NFL games during the 2020-2021 season.

10. New England Patriots @ Seattle Seahawks Week 2

These two teams always produce very exciting games. Super Bowl 49 and their regular-season matchup in 2016 were both nail biters. Week two’s Sunday Night Football game was no different. The Patriots had the ball down by five with three seconds remaining in the fourth quarter at the Seahawks one-yard line. Cam Newton tried to rush for the game-winning touchdown but the Seahawks made a game-winning goal-line stand.

9. Seattle Seahawks @ Arizona Cardinals Week 7

Between DK Metcalf’s touchdown-saving tackle and Kyler Murray’s heroics, this game featured lots of exciting moments before eventually heading into overtime. With 15 seconds remaining in the extra period, Zane Gonzalez made the game-winning 48-yard field goal which gave the Seahawks their first loss of the season.

8. Tennessee Titans @ Baltimore Ravens Week 11

This game was a rematch of last season’s divisional-round matchup where the Titans shockingly eliminated the Ravens. Tensions were clearly high heading into this week 11 game. The Titans made a second-half comeback and the game was tied at the conclusion of the fourth quarter. In overtime, Derrick Henry had the game-winning 29-yard touchdown run.

7. Atlanta Falcons @ Dallas Cowboys Week 2

The Falcons were up by 20 points at the end of the first quarter, 19 points at halftime, and by 15 points with less than 8 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter. Despite that, the Cowboys still had a chance to win at the end of the game. Down by two with 1:49 left, the Cowboys shockingly recovered their own onside kick. On the ensuing drive, Greg Zuerlein made the game-winning field goal as time expired to secure a one-point win for the Cowboys.

6. Baltimore Ravens @ Cleveland Browns Week 14

This Monday Night Football game between division rivals was very exciting. Baker Mayfield and Lamar Jackson, two third-year quarterbacks, each led both of their teams to over 40 points. With two seconds remaining, Justin Tucker made the game-winning 55-yard field goal for the Ravens.

5. Baltimore Ravens @ Tennessee Titans Wildcard Round

Between their playoff matchup last season and their previously mentioned 2020 regular-season matchup, these two teams know each other quite well. Despite losing both of those games, the Ravens were able to prevail in their 2021 postseason matchup. It’s a shame these two teams

aren’t scheduled to play each other next regular season.

4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Washington Football Team Wildcard Round

Few people thought the 7-9 Washington Football Team had a chance to beat the 11-5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Buccaneers were starting Tom Brady, the greatest quarterback of all time. On the other hand, Washington was starting Taylor Heinicke, who went undrafted in 2015 and was starting just his second career game. Heinicke shocked the world by throwing for over 300 yards and scoring two touchdowns. Despite Heinicke’s effort, the Buccaneers won by a final score of 31-23.

3. Buffalo Bills @ Arizona Cardinals Week 10

The Bills had the ball down by three with 39 seconds remaining and had the ball at the Cardinals’ 21-yard line. Josh Allen threw a go-ahead touchdown to Stefon Diggs which appeared to be the game-winning play. What happened after that play? Deandre Hopkins happened.

2. Cleveland Browns @ Kansas City Chiefs Divisional Round

There was a lot on the line in this divisional-round matchup. The Chiefs’ chances of winning decreased when Patrick Mahomes left the game with a concussion. It was 4th and one and the Chiefs had the ball up five on their own 48-yard line with 1:14 remaining in the final period of regulation. Instead of punting the ball, Andy Reid elected to go for it and Chad Henne, the backup quarterback, made a five-yard pass to Tyreek Hill which gave the Chiefs the game-sealing first down.

1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Green Bay Packers NFC Title Game

Tom Brady against Aaron Rodgers. The greatest quarterback of all-time against this season’s MVP winner. This was the first time that these two all-time great quarterbacks would faceoff in the postseason. In the end, the Buccaneers won by a final score of 31-26 and advanced to the Super Bowl.

What was your favorite game from this past campaign? There were lots of exciting moments from the 2020-2021 NFL season. Hopefully you enjoyed all of them. It’s crazy to think that we will have to wait seven months for the next regular-season NFL game.
